Another Mobile Snatching (stealing) Incident

Filed under: Crime, Karachi — by podracer @ 10:49 am

Someone I know went to Park Towers (Clifton) last weekend. While coming out of one of the shops she discovered that her mobile phone (which she had kept in her purse) had vanished! She rushed to the security guards on duty and, even after frantic appeals for help, they showed complete apathy. What is the use of all those online cameras when the security staff is so un-cooperative? :(

Anyway, later on she recalled that while entering one of the shops she had bumped into two 'burqa'-clad ladies. It looked like they had nicked the phone from her purse. She has informed CPLC on the cell phone snatching helpline (5682222) but nothing has happened yet.

For the general public: Beware of burqa-clad ladies! Just last night I saw a TV interview of a police official (on Tariq Road) and he said that there are "women gangs" operating in the city, picking pockets and catching people unawares! Prevention is better than cure, so be VERY careful.

May Allah protect us all against unfortunate incidents. Ameen!

  1. I have actually started to hate the city I onced so dearly loved! The so-called city of lights has turned into one lightless pile of CRAP with mobile phone snatchers lurking all over the place. I really am beginning to HATE this miserable city!

  2. There are the beast in Karachi who are snatching mobiles by threating them with a pistol and using slangs to take them in control I don’t know what the police is doing.
Beware of every motorcyclist and beware of every guy comming nearer to u with out any query. Be calm and be patience because money is very very lesser then life and left then on the behalf of Allah. He will treat them as He wants.

  3. Well Mobile snatching is not limited to Karachi only, surely it is getting out of the control in Karachi but if you consider the gulf between the rich and the poor, happy and not so happy families, you would understand quite a lot of it and you would find people who should be blamed for all these miseries, these are the people that you should hate, not the city, please.

  5. Why you all are afraid of taking MQM’s name… its MQM who is behind this mobile snatching games to feed his bas***d master residing in london.

    HATE MQM… HATE Altaf.

I know a lot of guys riding double on bike and police doesn’t even come close to them specially in Lines area near Tariq road (which is a STRONG MQM vote bank)

Governer Ishrat is supervising this lame crime for many years and forget about CPLC or any other so called institute… nothing is going to change… if MQM exists here.
